Travelling for weddings is my favourite, especially when I get to see gorgeous places like the Maya Riviera Mexico. It’s so amazing to head somewhere for a week, not knowing anyone, and leave feeling like you’ve made a whole new group of friends. Shooting destination weddings always feels so different then shooting local weddings (i love local weddings too don’t get me wrong), but there is something so intimate when you get to spend a whole week with a couple. You get to know them and the people most important to them, you get eat and drink and talk and really feel like part of something. Mitch and Laura are two very special people, they had their wedding right on the beach at the Bahai Principe resort, with 80 of their closest friends and family, followed by an oceanside outdoor reception and dance. It always blows my mind when so many people travel for a wedding, it says so much about a couple and how loved they are. Aside from being the sweetest people ever, along with their beautiful daughter Lyla they basically look like a model family. Beautiful people, beautiful landscape, amazingly beautiful light, this week could not have been better!
