Traditional Indian Wedding
“Nitya and Amit met in a way both thought would never happen to them – through the infamous matchmaking Indian aunties who are always after you to get married! There were hesitations on both sides initially (seriously now, what are the chances of this working out? It’s just going to be a waste of time. Mom/Dad, leave us alone), but they figured why not? After a short while, of emailing, texting, and Facebook stalking, Nitya and Amit decided to meet up in the centre of it all—New York City. After a chocolatey dinner at Max Brenner, they proceeded to extend the night at a local coffee spot where they chatted for hours. At the end of the night, both agreed – it was a nice time, and they’d like to do it again. One date turned into two. Two into three, and pretty much every weekend, and often times more. Before they knew it, the parents were involved, the families had met, and everyone was getting along. It became evident — marriage was in their future. Amit proposed to Nitya and the two were officially engaged on New Year’s day of 2016 and married later that summer.”
I asked Nitya and Amit to write me a little story about how they chose me and how they felt about the experience of working with me as their wedding photographer. This is what they sent me!
The wedding day was surreal. The day flew by so quick and as the weekend ended, we were already missing all our family and friends who helped us celebrate. The one thing that helps us relive those memories are the photographs. As soon as we met Ash, we were so comfortable with her. My family and I still remember the morning she joined us at the breakfast table to enjoy some piping hot parathas Her friendly and welcoming personality made the photo session so fun. She captured some of our best memories in the most beautiful way possible. When we see all the smiles, happy tears, and moments of joy on the faces of our family and friends, we realize how lucky we are to have them all in our lives.
The moment I saw Ash’s work and her portfolio online, I knew I wanted her to be a part of our special day. I loved her style of photography. That was the best decision that I made during our wedding planning process. When I first saw our wedding pictures, I was blown away. The colors, the angles, the composition, the creativity of each shot reminded me of why I wanted Ash in the first place. Every single person who has seen the photographs has complimented us and told us that our photographer was awesome! We still look through those pictures to this day and know we’ll cherish them for many, many years to come.
