Ali & Zach are just the most lovely couple, as soon as we started talking I knew they would not only be amazing to work with, but would be friends for life. I met them for the first time at their engagement session. We arranged to meet at the ferry terminals in Toronto and head out to the Toronto Island! You can see the images from that session here. The following summer they got married at the most picturesque amazing and magical vineyard I have ever been too. Here is what Ali wrote about their story, how they met and all about the wedding.
Zach and I met when I was dead-set on staying single. We worked at a summer camp together in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, a picturesque place that truly is magical, basically an environment that begs people to fall in love. After that first summer together there was no denying that the connection we had made was more than a summer fling. For three years we were a long-distance couple. We travelled back and forth from Toronto to Zach’s hometown in Northwest Indiana and spent two more summers together in Pennsylvania. In December of our 3rd year together, surrounded by our parents (and a couple strangers), Zach proposed under the lights on the skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square. Shortly after, Zach began the (long) immigration process to become a Canadian resident. Finally, on Canada day the next year, Zach moved to Toronto.
The stunning scenery in Niagara-on-the-lake made our wedding day feel like a fairytale brought to life. Every single piece of our big day was touched with personal meaning and love. Our talented friends and families rallied behind us to help with creating décor, attire and cupcakes as well as shared their gifts of music. Under two towering trees we exchanged hand written vows and were blessed with perfect weather and the presence of guests from Alberta, England, Ireland, New York, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Our first dance was beyond magical under perfect twinkly lights and captured what the day was all about.
