My Favourite Moments of 2014

So… I don’t normally write a lot of personal entries on this blog. But overlooking this past year, I don’t know how not to. 2014 has been a life changer, so many things happened this year in my personal life and my business life that have been huge for me.

I fell in love, in a ridiculously perfect way that I did not know was possible. Loving someone in this way, just opened my heart up, and allowed me to fully feel, and be present while shooting weddings, portraits, and a few very personal and intimate moments that I had the honour of being there for. I think I literally cried at almost every wedding I shot this year, as well as bawled my eyes out attending births. Sometimes I can’t even believe that this is my job, the fact that I get to connect with people and be with them, often during the most important days of their lives, it honestly just makes me burst with happiness.

This is also the first year that I have expanded my business and hired the amazing Agatha Rowland full time. This is something I have been wanting and needing to do for some time now, and this year I took the jump and did it. It has been the best decision I could have ever made for my business, Agatha is a huge part of my life, and has made me enjoy my career even more. This is also the first year that I have traveled so much for work. Agatha and I shot a wedding in the mountains of Goleta, engagement session in LA, trash the dress on Manhattan beach, and a wedding and engagement in Jamaica. We also covered most of ontario over the course of wedding season, and had the chance to experience so many new venues and cool locations

So this collection of photos is important to me, I flip flopped a lot, about whether to just pick what I thought were my best photos, or maybe just do the best of my wedding photos. In the end, I went with my heart, and I chose each of these photos because of the emotion I felt in the moment they were shot. They all have an importance to me, and have in some way changed me.

I’m so excited for what 2015 has to bring, even more travel, more moments, more love and most important it will be full of meeting many new amazing people!
