I’m feeling a little nostalgic these days. My little girl is getting so old and our conversations are often so deep and important and big now, there are so many big feelings happening. Don’t get me wrong there are still so many moments of joy, but it’s hard on a mamas heart to watch your child learn that growing up comes with a lot of growing pains, a lot of emotions and a lot of hard feelings that don’t make sense sometimes. I feel pretty lucky that we have such an open honest relationship and we get to talk through all of it. I’m so proud of her beautiful brain every single day. ❤️❤️

I know summer still isn’t here, but I’m already thinking about what summer brings. Convincing my clients to get in the water for photos is one of my absolute favorite things to do. It’s hilarious and ridiculous and romantic, and it always creates such beautiful images. I’m counting the days until it’s warm enough!

The dessert is never somewhere I have explored before. It’s wildly dusty spiky landscape is so foreign to me. I felt the constant need to watch my step for rattle snakes and scorpions, and the harshness of the sun glaring off the white sand is almost blinding. There were random cows everywhere, and so many huge beautiful hawks and rabbits. I was pretty enamored with everything about it. I hope I get to return one day.

5 years ago was the last time I took Lyla to Mexic

5 years ago was the last time I took Lyla to Mexico, tomorrow we get to go back and adventure for a week. I’m going to re-create this photo when I’m there, I think she’s about two feet taller now. Traveling with this kid is always a total joy.

A simple and bright in studio session will always be one of my favorite things to shoot. I’ve always felt like a simple white set, and beautiful light allows just emotion and personality to show through with no distractions. ❤️
