WEDDINGS
My goal is to make your wedding day as calm, fun and memorable as possible. I always help to keep things running smoothly and stress free. I also try to be unobtrusive and stay out of the spotlight, while still capturing creative, emotional, and well composed photos that really show off your wedding day.
Do you travel? Yes I do! For travel outside of Peterborough there is an extra charge. For destination weddings I quote on an individual basis, please contact me for more details about destination weddings or elopements.
Do you shoot with a second shooter? Always! I have a small team of amazing photographers who I rotate throughout the wedding season.
When and how do we receive our wedding photos? You will receive between 500-900 edited images on a USB drive and online gallery, as well as your custom fine art album. Online galleries will be up within 4-8 weeks of your wedding, and USB drives and books delivered after that.
What equipment do you use? I shoot with 2 Canon Mark 4’s. My main lenses are 35mm L series prime,45mm tilt shift,50mm L series prime and 85 mm prime lens. I also shoot with a variety of other lenses and lighting equipment.
Do you have insurance and backup? Yes! I have on site insurance for all equipment, as well as liability insurance. I always carry at least one back up camera as well. And my second shooter also acts as a back up.
What do I need to do to finalize a booking with you? For every wedding there is a contract to be signed and a $750 deposit to secure your date. The remainder of the payment is due on the day of your wedding or before.
MATERNITY SESSIONS
I always do my best to make sure the sessions will be very relaxed and comfortable, I encourage clients to feel free to let me know any ideas they might have, and then I work with them to come up with the best poses and backdrops for them!
What is the best time to get a maternity session done? I usually recommend between 33-37 weeks
What clothing should I bring? I always recommend bringing a white bra and underwear, and a black bra and underwear, a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, a dress or skirt, a black tank top, a nice colourful scarf, and any other outfit you find flattering that shows off your belly. I usually do nudes as well, so if possible don’t wear your bra on the way to the shoot so that you won’t have lines on your skin from the elastic.
Where does the session take place? The session can take place either at my studio, an outdoor location or in your home.
NEWBORN SESSIONS
I book lots of time for a newborn shoot, I never want new parents to feel rushed in any way. I like to keep a relaxed environment, and let the baby decide how the shoot goes. I leave lots of time for feedings and diaper changes.
What age should I bring my newborn in? It’s strongly recommended that you bring your baby in when they are between 6-12 days old. In order to attain many of the positions the baby needs to be very sleepy still. Call ahead of time and let me know your due date, then once the baby is born send an email or call and we will book a specific time.
What clothing/items should I bring? Newborns are always best shot in the buff, but I also recommend to bring one outfit that you love, a cloth diaper or diaper cover, and a white onesie. Also feel free to bring anything you want in the photo, blankets, stuffed animals etc.
Where does this session take place? This session can take place either at my studio or in your home. It just depends on what kind of look you want. In studio, I have many props, and backdrops. I have lots of natural light. If the shoot takes place in your home, I will incorporate the natural surroundings in the photos. I will also bring a small backdrop kit and a few props.
FAMILY SESSIONS
I love just letting children and families do their thing, I find it allows me to capture the most natural and real moments. I enjoy shooting with natural light in or out of my studio. We can take breaks when needed for snacks or outfit changes.
What should we wear? When deciding what to wear for your session I recommend styling your outfits in a way that suits you best. Try and go with some type of colour scheme, I find it looks best to wear mostly neutrals (grey, black, or white) then choose one or 2 other colours and try to have them appear somewhere in each outfit. Stay away from logos or words on clothing. Try and choose clothes that have some interesting features, knits, corduroy, denim, patterns such as plaid, strips etc.. all photograph very well. I am always more then willing to help style your outfits, just ask!
Where will the shoot take place? This shoot can take place wherever you like. I have a great studio space, and lots of ideas for outdoor locations. I can also come to your house. Let me know if you have any ideas for locations, I’m very flexible.
