Wedding at the Thompson Hotel, Toronto

It goes without saying that I adore weddings. Every single element of the day excites me, from the tiny glances and touches to the hilarious dance parties and everything in between, but there just seems to be something so special about a small intimate wedding. I felt so honoured to be part of Angie and Matt’s intimate ceremony and day and so grateful to have clients like them. I fell in love with both of them and from first contact I knew we would work amazingly together!

Angie took the time to write about her perspective of the day and its absolutely perfect:

“As a Makeup Artist who does a lot of bridal work I have been to every type of wedding you can imagine, and I wanted our wedding to really just be a party with our closest family members. We wanted great food and great photos. Matt and I have been together for 11 years and we have been to a lot of weddings. We wanted our wedding to be as relaxed and as fun as possible for everyone involved. I didn’t want to deal with bridesmaids and groomsmen, we didn’t even have a seating plan! I am not the type of person who wears dresses to anything or likes to be the centre of attention so having a traditional wedding was never really on the table and I figured if I was going to wear a dress for something I wanted it to be a dress that I would actually enjoy wearing. We always wanted our wedding to be less about the marriage and more about the celebration of the two families coming together. We threw an amazing party and did it our way – I think Matt will agree i’m not one to do anything just because someone else is doing it. Ash was able to capture all the little moments which is what this day was about for us.  We got married in our track pants, it rained, my father in-law forgot his pants, we had a school bus with seizure inducing LED lights, we played ping pong, ate and drank our faces off, it was perfect and Ash captured it all beautifully (and she didn’t make Matt and I touch faces in any photos). Not to mention that rooftop photoshoot was AMAZING.”
